About the role and the team
As an Operation Engineer at Qwilt, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our production deployment, designing and scaling Qwilt CDN, and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our company by automating operational tasks, developing internal tools, and collaborating with various internal teams at Qwilt.
What will you do?
- Manage and maintain Qwilt's production deployment, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Design and scale Qwilt CDN to meet the increasing demands of our customers.
- Automate operation-related tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Develop internal tools to streamline operational processes and enhance productivity.
- Act as the focal point for escalations related to Qwilt production, coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
- Create and improve new alerts to proactively identify and address potential system issues.
- ·Create dashboards to enhance Qwilt's visibility into production performance and key metrics.
- Enhance Qwilt's knowledge base by documenting operational procedures and transferring knowledge to internal functions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to propose and implement improvements in Qwilt's operational practices.
You will be great for this role if you have-
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of production system deployments and operations.
- Experience with designing and scaling Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools such as Python, Bash, or similar.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a timely manner.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- A proactive and self-driven mindset, with keen attention to detail.
