Qwilt Appoints Jesper Knutsson as Vice President of Sales
REDWOOD CITY, CA – April 20, 2016 – Qwilt, a leading provider of online video delivery and open video caching solutions, announced today that industry veteran, Jesper Knutsson, has joined the company as Vice President of Sales. In this role, Knutsson will lead the company’s overall sales strategy and execution to drive company growth and adoption of Qwilt’s award-winning open caching solutions in the Americas.
“The transformation from broadcast television to internet TV is at a critical juncture – a myriad of streaming content options and insatiable demand from subscribers are top of mind issues for network operators who must architect their networks to meet this demand,” said Alon Maor, Qwilt CEO. “We’re glad to have a sales leader like Jesper join our team and scale our sales efforts so more network operators can benefit from an open caching solution that increases network capacity and improves subscriber quality of experience. We expect his extensive industry experience and remarkable sales success will continue to accelerate Qwilt’s growth and expansion.”
Knutsson joins with over 20 years of technology sales and leadership experience. Prior to joining Qwilt, Knutsson was an early executive at NDS, a leading provider of video delivery software and content security solutions where he sold to the top US MSOs. Following Cisco’s acquisition of NDS in 2012, Knutsson leveraged his industry expertise and sales acumen to lead Cisco’s relationship with DirectTV.
“Streaming video is ubiquitous in today’s society. Consumers are cutting the cord and relying on OTT video for everything from Netflix to live streaming major events such as an NFL game or the Oscars,” said Jesper Knutsson, Vice President of Sales for Qwilt. “Qwilt has established itself as a leader in working with network operators to address the issues related to the industry transformation from broadcast to Internet TV. I look forward to my new role guiding Qwilt’s sales teams as we work with network operators to scale their networks for streaming video.”
Qwilt’s open cache solution is engineered specifically for high performance and scalable video delivery in the demanding environment of high capacity operator networks. Qwilt’s solution is delivered as a fully managed service to speed deployment and streamline ongoing operation. The broader operator organization—including network planning, engineering and operations teams—benefit from comprehensive media analytics, which offer insights into growth trends, content sources and consumer preferences. By relying on open caching for online video delivery at the network edge, operators can substantially reduce network capital and operational costs—a typical open cache deployment yields a return on investment (ROI) in less than 12 months.
