Realize the Open Edge at MWC 2023!
In just a few days, the Qwilt team will return to Barcelona for MWC 2023 to exhibit alongside our partner, Cisco (Hall 3, #3E30). As we continue to build out our global content delivery platform, we are excited to share many new milestone achievements that will help the mobile industry improve the quality of delivery for a growing number of applications. Open caching has revolutionized content delivery for tier 1 service providers, and Qwilt’s game-changing contributions to software and cloud services – alongside Cisco’s edge infrastructure – have unlocked the potential of edge cloud services deep within mobile networks.
Since Qwilt last graced the GSMA halls of the Fira Gran Via, we’ve landed some historic company moments, each of which makes our platform more robust and valuable to customers and partners. These include:
- Serving over 1 billion unique subscribers through our content distribution and partnership agreements
- Being deployed at 150+ service providers globally
- Exceeding 100Tbps network capacity to meet the increasing demand for content delivery and edge cloud services
- Building support for new use cases, including site delivery, edge computing, and other low-latency applications
- Delivering 90% reduction in core network bandwidth utilization for media streaming
Solving Your Delivery Challenges
The key ingredient to our open-edge solution is open caching – a specification we helped create within the Streaming Video Technology Alliance (SVTA) and one in which we now lead the industry in commercialized services. With open caching, we’re re-defining how the streaming ecosystem – including major streaming platforms and service providers – delivers content, and we are dramatically improving end user quality of experience along the way. Said simply, with our content delivery model, everyone wins. And there’s nothing ‘too good to be true’ about this approach – we’re currently making this happen for top tier OTT and broadcast platforms globally.
Our combined solution with Cisco delivers instant value to telcos, cable operators, and mobile communication service providers by seamlessly bringing them into the content delivery value chain. Our service provider partners gain a pre-established content publisher ecosystem with highly optimized content distribution relationships with key M&E publishers. Our federated platform is the foundation for meeting current and future edge cloud use cases, including content distribution, IoT, and ultra-low latency scenarios.
Come See It for Yourself
Either myself or one of my colleagues – Alon Maor, Alberto Anaya, Lisa Aussieker, Marwan Shehab, Nicholas Choquart or Remco Kaptein – will be able to walk you through how we’re changing the game for some of the world’s largest mobile service providers. These include:
- Verizon in North America
- TIM Brazil and Telecom Argentina in Latin America
- Airtel in India
- J:COM in Asia-Pacific
- Vodafone Turkey in EMEA
And if that wasn’t enough, we’re also pleased to announce our new joint initiative with Cisco to build the world’s largest distributed, low-latency network for IoT-connected car services. This initiative will dramatically expand the value of our platform for mobile service providers everywhere.
